West Elm, the US home furnishings brand, has landed in Melbourne, and what a splash it has made. Not only is it in a gorgeous, two-storey heritage building on Chapel Street, but it's the first stand-alone store to open outside North America. To celebrate, there was a bang-up, kick-up-your-heels party; Craig Nomura, the senior vice president of Williams-Sonoma, did the honors, and MC was Megan Morton, guru of crafting and homewares, who flew in from Sydney. No wonder the crowd included interiors author Jason Grant, The Design Files' Lucy Feagins and newly-minted Real Housewife of Melbourne, Chyka Keebaugh.
